Or as a performance art piece in the academia, analogous to Marina Abramovic's "The Artist is Present" This analogy is potentially rich, because why should a scientist be disappear from the society sponsoring him into an academic 'ivory tower'? Especially when the technology enables him to be present. And when the meaning of his work is to intervene into the real world, and in that way respond to the situation we as civilization find ourselves in... Furthermore, this sort of intervention MUST be done cooperatively, co-creatively, democratically...
